Home Disks does not collect, store or transmit your personal data. We have no server to send it to, no database to keep it in and no account to attach it to. Your photos, videos, contacts and calendar stay on your phone and on the PC or NAS you choose. We never see them.
Home Disks backs up your phone to a PC or NAS on your own home Wi-Fi network. All data travels directly between your phone and your destination device over your local network. No data passes through any server we operate or control, because no such server exists.
When you pair your phone with your PC, the PC displays a QR code that contains its local network address and a one-time cryptographic key. Your phone reads the code with its camera. This exchange happens entirely on your home network. The pairing information is stored locally on your phone and is never transmitted to us.
Your backed-up files are stored as ordinary files in ordinary folders on the PC or NAS you select. They are not encrypted by default and can be opened with any standard application. Backup credentials (the pairing key) are encrypted on your phone using the Android Keystore.
We have no access to your backup destination. We do not know its address, its contents or whether it exists.
Home Disks does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services. The Android app uses Google Play for distribution and in-app purchases (Pro). Google Play's own privacy practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Home Disks does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app collects no personal information, there is nothing to delete.
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Because we collect no data, any future change would most likely be a clarification rather than a broadening of practices.
If you have questions about this privacy policy, contact us at support@homedisks.com.
Home Disks is currently under review with Google and will be available to download very soon. Thanks for your patience — do check back shortly.
