Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Check that the Home Disks agent is running on your PC (look for the icon in the system tray near the clock). If your router has "AP isolation" or "client isolation" enabled, it prevents devices from talking to each other — turn it off in your router settings.
Large first-time backups can take a while, especially with many videos. The app backs up in the background whenever you are home on Wi-Fi. Leave it running and it will catch up. Check that your phone is not in battery-saver mode, which can pause background work.
Make sure the camera permission is granted to Home Disks. Hold your phone steady about 15 cm from the screen. If your PC monitor brightness is low, increase it. The QR code refreshes every few minutes — if it has expired, click "Show new code" in the PC app.
Right-click the Home Disks icon in the system tray and choose "Quit," then open it again from the Start menu. If it does not appear, check that it was installed correctly — re-download and run the installer.
Open the Home Disks folder on your PC (right-click the tray icon and choose "Open folder"). Files are organised by date. If a file is still on your phone but not on the PC, it may still be in the queue — open the app on your phone to check the backup status.
Email us at support@homedisks.com with a description of the problem, your phone model, and your Windows version. Screenshots help. We read every message and typically reply within one business day.
Home Disks is currently under review with Google and will be available to download very soon. Thanks for your patience — do check back shortly.
